The A6500-CC system communication card is a 3U, 1-slot plug-in module designed to reduce cabinet space requirements by half compared to traditional 6U cards. The module is API 670 compliant, hot-swappable, and has password protected user configuration. It has self-inspection facilities to monitor hardware, power input and hardware temperature.

The A6500-CC communication card is designed as a ModBus and rack interface module for high reliability of the plant's most critical rotating machinery. It is able to read the parameters of all AMS A6500 ATG modules and output these parameters via ModBus TCP/IP and/or ModBus RTU (serial). In addition, it supports data transfer to third-party systems via OPC UA.

This single-slot monitor is used with other AMS A6500 ATG monitors to form a complete API 670 mechanical protection monitor. Applications include steam, gas, compressors and hydraulic turbomachinery. In the control environment, it provides the operator with mechanical health parameters for seamless integration. The module can also power a local graphic display on the protective frame cabinet for machine and meter readings. It supports configuration of ModBus TCP/IP, ModBus RTU, or OPC UA, or both for redundant paths.

In terms of data transmission, the A6500-CC communication card supports RS 485 interface, supports a maximum of 6 bus lines, and the data rate meets the EIA485 standard, reaching 512 kbit. In addition, it has an Ethernet connector RJ45, with data rates of 10/100 Mbit and a maximum cable length of 100m. At the same time, the module is also equipped with a USB connection socket, type USB type B, and the data rate is up to 12 Mbit/s.

In terms of isolation interface, the A6500-CC communication card is connected to the ground wire. For the Modbus RS 485 interface, it complies with EIA485 standard, with data rate options of 9600 or 19.2 kBaud, voltage peak-to-peak value of 200 mV, current rating of 1.6 mA, and power rating of 0.4 mW.
