The A6500-UM Universal Measuring card is a two-channel, 3U, one-slot plug-in module designed to reduce the cabinet space requirement by half compared to the traditional four-channel 6U card. This module is API 670 compliant and hot-swappable. It has a remote optional limit multiplier and trip bypass function, as well as front and rear buffering and proportional output, providing 0/4-20mA output.

The A6500-UM Universal Measuring card features self-inspection, including monitoring hardware, power input, hardware temperature, sensors, and cable status. It is an integral part of the AMS 6500 ATG mechanical protection system. The card is equipped with 2 sensor input channels (which can be used independently or in combination, depending on the measurement mode selected) and is suitable for most common sensors. Such as eddy current sensors, piezoelectric sensors (accelerometers or velocity meters), seismic sensors (electrodynamics), low frequency (low frequency bearing vibration), Hall effect sensors and LVDT sensors (combined with A6500-LC). In addition, the card contains 5 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs.

The measurement signals are transmitted via the internal RS485 bus to the A6500-CC communication card and converted into Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for further transmission to the host computer or analysis system. In addition, the communication card provides communication through the USB interface on the panel for connecting to a PC/ laptop for card configuration and visualization of measurement results. In addition, the measurement results can also be output by analog output 0/4-20mA. These outputs have common ground and are electrically isolated from the system power supply.

Operation of the A6500-UM Universal measuring card is carried out in the A6500-SR system rack, which also provides connections to the power supply voltage and signal. The A6500-UM Universal measuring card provides the following functions: absolute shaft vibration measurement, shaft relative vibration measurement, shaft eccentricity measurement, housing piezoelectric vibration measurement, thrust and rod position measurement, differential and housing expansion measurement, valve position measurement, speed and key input signals, eddy current input signals, and original signal voltage range measurement.
