3500/23E Transient data interface

The 3500/23E Transient Data Interface (TDI) is the interface between the 3500 ENCORE monitoring System and GE's System 1* condition monitoring and diagnostic software. The module combines the function of the system monitor with the data collection capability of the communication processor.

Running in the system monitor slot of the 3500 ENCORE rack, the TDI works in tandem with the vibration monitor (3500/42E) to continuously collect steady-state and transient waveform data and pass this data to the host software over an Ethernet link. TDI has standard static data capture capabilities, but dynamic or transient data can also be captured when the disk is enabled using an optional channel. The TDI is an improvement over the previous communications processor in several ways and integrates the capabilities of the communications processor within the 3500 ENCORE rack.

The TDI module provides extensive communication capabilities for all monitored values and states of the rack and can be integrated with process control and other automation systems using serial (RS232/RS422/RS485) communication capabilities.

Each 3500 ENCORE rack requires a TDI, which always occupies slot 1 (next to the power supply).
