The GE Fanuc IC600CB508 register memory module is a 1K register memory module designed for use in the GE Model 600 or Model 6000 CPUs. This module is part of the GE Fanuc Series Six product family. The IC600CB508 memory module is used in the Model 600 or Model 6000 CPUs to provide the 1K or 1024 16-bit battery-backed words CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) memory to these CPUs. This memory type is set aside for the register memory data. The GE Fanuc IC600CB508 memory module is flexible and it supports use with any of the functional levels, such as the extended, advanced, and basic levels. It comes with a 2-tier circuit board with the top tier daughterboard comprising the CMOS memory devices. The bottom tier is the motherboard, and it comprises the memory control circuitry, LED indicators, and a lithium battery.

The IC600CB508 register memory module comes with a battery backup for the CMOS memory. It is designed to retain the register memory when there is an interruption in power or after a power failure. With a non-condensing tolerable relative humidity range between 5 and 95 percent, the IC600CB508 memory module requires a power of 5 Volts, with a current rating of 800 milliamps, which are both provided by the CPU power source. The temperature rating for the operation of this module is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, while the storage temperature range is between 0 and 70 degrees Celsius. It comes with 2 different LED indicators marked “PARITY” which go off when there is a parity error in the internal memory module. The other LED indicator is marked “BATTERY,” and it indicates the status of the onboard battery.
