FL-Net network interface module is designed for CompactLogix

The MVI69-FLN FA Control Network Communication Module is a single-slot solution that allows Rockwell Automation's CompactLogix processors to communicate with devices compatible with the FL-net protocol. This module implements the FL-net version 2.00 (OPCN-2) specification defined by JEMA (Japan Electrical Manufacturers Association) for standard FA control networks. FL-net is an ownerless system.

The MVI69-FLN module acts as a gateway between the FL-net network and the CompactLogix/MicroLogix backplane. Data transferred from the CompactLogix/MicroLogix processor is asynchronous with operations on the FL-net network. The module's internal database can be used to exchange loop data, network data, and module status data for regions 1 and 2 between the processor and the FL-net network.

FL-net is a peer-to-peer network system. All FL-net devices use two shared databases of fixed size to transfer data. The MVI69-FLN module accepts commands to control and monitor the data stored in both databases. This data is passed between the module and the CompactLogix/MicroLogix processor via the backplane for use by the customer application.
