The EtherNet/IP to GE Genius gateway allows Allen-Bradley's Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) to control GE Genius I/O devices. This gateway provides a phased migration method when upgrading or replacing GE Genius-based 90-30 and 90-70 controllers. The gateway automatically creates Genius scan lists and generates associated RSLogix 5000 tags, reducing engineering effort.

The gateway's monitoring mode allows validation of transformation logic using real-time I/O data without affecting legacy systems that are running. Once the new PAC is operational, the I/O of the old system can be upgraded module by module or rack by rack during the planned downtime. This gateway minimizes the risk of excessive downtime that can occur when upgrading older control systems.
