Spectracom/KSI TPRO-VME performs timing and synchronization functions based on input time code signals. The board synchronizes its onboard clock to the input time code. The clock is also provided as an IRIG-B output. Additional features include time-label TTL input, 1MHz TTL output, and two user-configurable TTL pulse rate outputs. When no time code is entered, the board continues to increment the time (" free run "). Therefore, the host computer can set the onboard clock via VMEbus, and the board can also be used as an IRIG-B generator.

The input time code format (IRIG-B, IRIG-A, NASA36, XR3, or 2137) is automatically detected. Synchronization with the input time code is also automatic, and propagation delay offsets can be specified to compensate for cable delays. Front panel indicators include the presence and successful synchronization of the input time code. An optional seven-segment LED display displays the date and time in DDD:HH:MM:SS format. The time code input is an amplitude-modulated sine wave with peak amplitude ranging from 0.5Vp-p to 8.0Vp-p. The time code input is differential, and the board does not reference this signal to the ground. A single endpoint input (reference to the ground) is also acceptable.
