The 3300/50 tachometer is a device that continuously measures shaft rotation speed, rotational acceleration or provides a zero-speed indication output. The tachometer provides a proportional voltage or current output on the rear terminal block and an alarm status via relay contacts for use with an external alarm panel.

Although the 3300/50 tachometer is a single channel monitor, it can accept input from two sensors. The voting logic between the two sensors is built into the monitor to minimize false positives in the event of a single sensor failure.

Signal conditioning

Monitoring range: Shaft rotation speed (rpm) is monitored from 1 to 99,999 rpm. Rotor acceleration/deceleration (rpm/min) is monitored from -9,999 to 9,999 rpm/min. Zero speed monitoring range below 100 rpm.

Accuracy: The accuracy of speed display is within ±1 rpm, and the accuracy of rotor acceleration display is within 20 rpm/min. The above specifications are specified when the ambient temperature is +25°C (+77°F).

Sensor conditioning

Automatic threshold: applies to any input above 10 Hz (600 rpm, one event per revolution) to 10 KHz.

Duty cycle: at least 1%.

Manual threshold: The value ranges from 0 to -18 Vdc.

Hysteresis: User optional range is 0.2 to 2.0 volts.

Per-turn event options: User-selectable numerators are 1 to 255 and denominators are 1 to 255. Numerator/denominator ≥0.1.

Recorder: User programmable for +4 to +20mA, 0 to -10 Vdc or +1 to +5 Vdc. The voltage or current output is proportional to the full scale of the selected monitor. Each recorder output is proportional to the shaft rotation speed (rpm) and rotor acceleration (rpm/min).
