DeltaV | MD-PLUS controller with DeltaV™ MX controller

The MX controller provides communication and control between field devices and other nodes on the control network. Control policies and system configurations created on earlier DeltaV™ systems are compatible with this powerful controller. The MX controller has all the features and functions of an MD Plus controller, but with twice the capacity. The control language executed in the controller is described in the Control Software Suite product data table.

The MX controller complements the functionality of the MQ controller by providing a larger capacity controller to meet the needs of applications that require more control capacity:

Flexibility for late project changes: You can easily upgrade the MQ controller to MX for scope changes that occur later in the project. MX controllers have the same installation space as MQ controllers, but double the performance. Redundant architecture: MX controllers support 1:1 redundancy to improve availability. Existing MD/MD Plus or MQ controllers can be upgraded online - very robust!

Self-addressing: The DeltaV controller has a unique automatic recognition function that automatically identifies itself to the DeltaV control network. When the controller is powered on, it automatically assigns a unique address - no toggle, no configuration - just plug and play!

Self-positioning: The physical location of the controller is easy to find. The leds on the controller panel can be set to flash, providing a strong visual cue.
