The DeltaV SIS™ process safety system, part of Emerson's Intelligent SIS, leads the next generation of safety instrumentation systems (SIS). This smart SIS approach leverages the power of predictive field intelligence to improve the usability of the entire safety meter function.

The world's first smart SIS: Studies show that more than 85% of failures in SIS applications occur with field instruments and final control elements. The DeltaV SIS process safety system is equipped with the first intelligent logic operator, which uses the HART protocol to communicate with intelligent field equipment to diagnose faults before they lead to misaction. This approach improves process availability and reduces lifecycle costs.

Flexible deployment: Traditionally, process safety systems have either been deployed separately from control systems or connected to control systems via engineering interfaces based on open protocols such as Modbus.
