What does cable assembly mean？

Cable components mainly include wires, electromagnetic wires and insulated wires for motor appliances, power cables, communication cables and optical cables.Cable assemblies are materials used for power, communication and related transmission purposes.

There is no hard and fast line between "wire" and "cable."

The original 3-M ribbon cable consisted of multiple wires embedded in a thick, protruding gray plastic insulating medium. Later colored cables resemble individual round wires tied together. Eventually, certain ribbon cables support their wires on the surface of a stiff plastic insulating tape. Each insulator configuration has different high frequency characteristics.

Regardless of the insulator assembly, the ribbon cable lines are always parallel to each other in precisely controlled isolation. Uniform isolation facilitates the creation of multi-end connectors that simultaneously curl each heel into the tape in one quick operation. This simultaneous crimping process is an inexpensive way to connect to multi-wire cables. Today's ribbon cable is widely used because it can connect multiple ports and make the cost low.
